Car rental rules

Everything you need to know before booking

To ensure a fair, safe and hassle-free experience for all our customers, we have created a clear set of rules for renting vehicles. Here you’ll find all the essential information about the customer’s rights and obligations, the terms of delivery and return, the warranty policy, usage restrictions, and how we handle unexpected incidents.

We recommend you read the full rules before booking a car. This ensures that everything is transparent and you can enjoy your mobility without any unpleasant surprises.

The renter has the following responsibilities and obligations throughout the entire rental contract period:

Driver’s License and Minimum Age
The renter must hold a valid driver’s license appropriate for the category of the rented vehicle, with at least 1 year of driving experience. The minimum age required to rent a vehicle is 21 years.

Liability in Case of Accident
The renter assumes full responsibility for any accident caused by reckless behavior, as well as for driving under the influence of alcohol or other prohibited substances. In such cases, the renter agrees to pay for damages assessed by the insurance company.

Procedure in Case of Accident or Theft
In the event of an accident or theft, the renter is obligated to immediately notify the competent authorities and the vehicle owner. The renter is also responsible for obtaining the following documents from the relevant authorities:

  • Accident or theft report;
  • Annex 2;
  • Repair authorization.

Compliance with Traffic Laws
The renter is responsible for obeying all traffic regulations and will bear full financial responsibility for any fines incurred during the rental period.

Security Deposit
The renter will pay a security deposit ranging from 100 to 300 euros, depending on the vehicle category. The deposit will be refunded at the end of the contract period if the vehicle is returned in the same condition.

Usage Restrictions
The renter agrees to:

  • Not leave Romania without the owner’s written consent;
  • Not participate in car races or performance tests with the vehicle;
  • Not transport illegal materials, hazardous substances, or goods without legal documentation;
  • Not use the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other substances impairing driving ability;
  • Not tow other vehicles or trailers without the owner’s written permission;
  • Not leave the vehicle unattended with windows open or keys in the ignition;
  • Activate the alarm system every time the vehicle is left;
  • Not perform repairs independently. Any technical intervention must be done exclusively at an authorized service designated by the owner;
  • Not sell, sublease, or use the rented vehicle as collateral.

Vehicle Return
Upon contract expiration, the renter must return the vehicle along with all accessories in the same condition as received.

Financial Liability
Failure to comply with any contractual conditions results in direct financial liability of the renter toward the owner, which may include withholding the deposit and payment for all caused damages.

The owner (the company or individual offering the vehicle for rent) is responsible for ensuring optimal and safe conditions for the renter’s use of the vehicle. Their obligations include:

Providing a vehicle in perfect working condition
The owner must deliver to the renter a vehicle that operates within normal parameters, free of major mechanical, electrical, or aesthetic defects that could affect safety or comfort. The car must be technically prepared for driving, with all inspections and maintenance up to date.

Delivering a clean vehicle, both inside and out
It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure complete cleaning and sanitization of the vehicle before each rental. The vehicle must be handed over clean, without dirt, excessive dust, unpleasant odors, or residues from previous use. This ensures a high level of professionalism and comfort for the renter.

Ensuring the validity of legal documents
The owner must provide all necessary documents for the legal use of the vehicle, including:

  • The vehicle registration certificate;
  • The mandatory RCA insurance policy (civil liability insurance);
  • CASCO insurance, which covers a wide range of risks and offers additional protection to the renter in case of unforeseen events.

All documents must be valid for the entire rental period.

Informing the renter about usage conditions
The owner must provide the renter with all relevant information regarding:

  • The technical and functional features of the vehicle;
  • The type of fuel used;
  • Instructions on the use of accessories or equipment (GPS, air conditioning, multimedia system, etc.);
  • Safety instructions and emergency contact information.

Support and assistance during the rental period
If technical issues arise during the rental that are not caused by the renter, the owner is obligated to provide prompt assistance, including:

  • Sending a technical team;
  • Replacing the vehicle with a similar one (if available);
  • Assistance with towing companies, service centers, or authorities (as applicable).

Repairs and maintenance
All technical interventions, repairs, or scheduled maintenance are the sole responsibility of the owner. These tasks cannot be delegated to the renter unless there is explicit written agreement. The owner is responsible for preventive maintenance and fixing defects not caused by the renter.

Compliance with contractual conditions
The owner must strictly adhere to the terms set in the rental contract, including:

  • Rental duration;
  • Delivery and pickup locations;
  • Guarantee and return conditions.

Any changes to these terms must be agreed upon by the renter and documented in writing.

Delivery, Handover, and Return of the Vehicle
  • The vehicle will be delivered and picked up at the location specified by the owner, in accordance with the operating hours and terms established in the contract.
  • The car is rented in optimal conditions, without technical defects, and in good working order. The renter is obligated to return the vehicle in the same condition as received, except for normal wear and tear.
  • The handover of the vehicle to the renter will take place within a maximum of 2 hours from the order placement, a period required for sanitizing and technical inspection of the vehicle.
  • If the renter delays the return of the vehicle, they must notify us at least 24 hours in advance. The first hour of delay is free; thereafter, a fee equivalent to one day’s rental rate will be applied for each day of delay.

Vehicle delivery and pickup are carried out during business hours as follows:

  • Monday – Friday: 08:30 AM – 07:00 PM
  • Saturday – Sunday: 09:00 AM – 06:00 PM
  • Any delivery or pickup outside these hours will incur an additional fee.

An extra fee of 10 euros applies for delivery or return outside business hours.

The vehicle must be delivered and returned clean inside and out. Otherwise, a cleaning fee of 10 euros will be charged.
